Anton Chekhov once wrote ‘Don’t bring a gun onstage unless you’re going to fire it.’ And according to British interior designer David Mlinaric, the same applies to decorating. ‘If there’s no need for something, there’s no point.’
And so, with the autumn sun streaming into my living room and the space cleared as I await the arrival of a new sofa, I’ve made the decision to pare back this winter. Everything will have a point, whether it’s because I love it or it serves a purpose.
Besides, as Biddy will attest, nothing tops a nap in the sun and all you need for that is a cushion!
PS – new sofa chaise has finally arrived – love love love!
